changing ff times not working

I like my skip forward set a 30secs and my back at 10 so I can skip forward with less presses and get a precise start of the show.

So, I edited sage.properties with sage off and the service stopped and I changed it to 30 secs, 30000 msecs and still I get 10 second skips, I even set it to 3 minute skips and I get nothing. Any idea why this isn't changing?

Also I checked the sage.properties file, it is saving what I put in each time, not over-writing it.

P.S. changing those times should be in the setup of the UI, even craptacular ATI media center had the ability to change those in the UI.

You can change the times in the UI with v3.

Are you still using SageTv V. 2.x or are you using the Beta? If you're using the Beta did you get bit by the change in default install directories? I.e. it's in "/sagetv" now instead of "frey technologies/sagetv". If you've upgraded to the Beta and got bit by the install directory change you may be editing the wrong sage.properties file.

You are changing the right ff/rw right? There's a ff and a ff2 and both rw and rw2.

I've got my ff2 and rw2 at 3 minutes and my ff and rw like yours at 30s ff and 10s rewind. They are working fine for me in the Beta and worked fine in the 2.2x I was using prior to using the Beta.

That's why I'm suspecting the install dir mixup causing you to edit the wrong sage.properties file if you've gone to the Beta.

Nope, using the current stable, 2.2.8 I believe. Also I don't even have a listing of ff2 or rw2 in my sage.properties, I doubt this is the problem, but could it be?

I'm at a loss then. Sorry, I know it worked for me when I was running 2.2x.

For anyone wondering what could be going on here with the properties file, see the middle of p. 15 in the v2.2 PDF manual. (p. 16 for the latest v3 beta)

Ahhh, the dang old service mode? Just another reason I don't use Service mode, it makes things too "complicated".

Ok, ok, I get it now; I must have had a dyslexic moment the first time I read that part of the manual.

Thanks for the help, a mod can close this now.
