Actisys 200l Won't Work

Any suggestions?? I can get to the point where the 200l learns the numbers from my Comccast remote. After that, the comcast remote is useless. Is there a remote code for the Hauppauge remote so that I can program my comcast remote to work as my hauppauge remote??

thanks- this is becoming a real pain in the a@@@

I don't have an Actisys, so I can't help there, but for someone else who may be able to offer suggestions, could you clarify what you mean by "After that, the comcast remote is useless"? What eeactly is happening? Is SageTV not sucessfully learning the button codes, or what?

Good question. During the setup wizard I am able to have SageTv learn the 1-9 buttons on my comcast remote. After I finish the set-up, I go to LiveTv and I am unable to do anything with my comcast remote. I am assuming all I have to do is point the remote at the Actisys 200L IR reciever- yet nothing happens. None of the comcast remote buttons work ie: I can't change channels using the number buttons or the channel buttons. This is so frustrating.

no, the actisys only receives the commands during setup, after that it is only a blaster and changes channels on the STB. You need another remote control and remote control receiver to use this correctly. For example, I have a remote wonder. This comes with its own receiver. I send commands by the remote, the reciever then gets that info to sage, sage tell the actisys to change the channel on the STB and it changes it. If you want to use your comcast remote control, you will need to use the USB-UIRT--that has both a sender and a receiver if I am not mistaken.

edit--btw--since the actisys is not a receiver and only a blaster (except for initial setup), it will need to be pointed at the STB.

Ok, I feel pretty stupid. So, can I use the Hauppauge remote to change channels in LiveTV and have the Actisys 200l change the channels on my STB. Is that how it works? Will this work with channels higher than 125? Thanks for all the reply.

should work. Does your Hauppauge remote have a receiver? I believe they do. And it should have no problems going above 125.
Basically, the hauppauge remote will send the command to its receiver--connected to your computer. Then it tells sage to change the channel. Sage tells the 200L to change the channel and it sends to command to the STB. So, this should work for you, but you might have to setup the Hauppauge remote some--can't help you on that one as I don't have it though.

Yes -- that's what I was trying to say in your other thread.

Once SageTV has learned the commands for your STB, you just continue using SageTV with your regular remote (in this case: the Hauppauge remote). When SageTV needs to change the channel for whatever reason, it then uses the blaster to do so.

Sorry if I didn't understand what you meant. I'll give this setup a try and post back later. Thanks for all the help.
