Changed Sage server IP now acting strange

Ok so I changed the IP of my Sage server (had to re-IP my network for work VPN). I changed the IP for all of my folders in sage sertup for TV and import were set to the old ip address\sharename UNC path. I changed path's to new IP (I should just change that to the host name). I changed the ip in the sage properties file as well were ever I found it I replaced it. On my client I set to not to auto-connect, specified the new IP when I launched client and set it to auto-connect. Client now connects but client and server both hang intermittantly, any ideas?

Thanks,
TD

There is a very long, possibly slightly out of date FAQ that talks about the concept of changing where SageTV sees its recordings.

I think the problem is related to the fact that your system no longer has access to the old IP address & you used that old IP address as part of the path name. Since SageTV can't access that address any more, it can't determine that the recordings are no longer there.

If you look at the detaield info for some recording, it should list the complete file path where it believes that file exists. I believe you'll need to provide access to at least the base path of that file path for SageTV to figure out that the files have moved.

Is there a way to spoof an IP address path while keeping the new IP address also? That sounds like what might need to be done to get the file links updated.

Oh -- and the intermittant hangs are probably the attempts to access the non-existent IP address.

I can add 2nd IP

Well I can add a 2nd IP being the old IP address to the sage server if need be. I am just about to "finally" install SP2. Perhaps this would be a good time to start over from scratch with Sage? I hate to do that other than this my system has been rock solid But on the flip side I am no overly concerned about losing detailed info as I delete almost all of the TV stuff and much of my video was imported from outside of Sage so there's no description anyway. Thanks for the info.
