Categorizing Imported Video?

I can not find this anywhere. Yet I am sure it has come up before.

Is there a method by which imported videos can be categorized and then sorted by category (e.g., Mystery, SciFi, etc.)

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere.

Thanks!

Just creating sub folders in your import directory should work, just name them the category and then you'll see a folder instead of a file at the top level.

I really wish this could be done a little better.
I already use Genre name-based subfolders, however some movies fall into more than one category. Sci-Fi/Action, Comedy/Romance etc...

I have over 1000 movies and several thousand episodes in my imported library and wish they could be imported individually with Genre and other such information so they could be sorted better. Kind of like I-Tunes and MP3 tags.

It's getting there, slowly. Check out SageMC_169 with the metadata importing.
