Question Cyberlink Remote w/ SageTV?

I have a cyberlink remote which is supposed to support Microsoft HID standard. It comes with no software but able to control windows media player. Is there any chance I can get this working with SageTV? I also have a harmony remote which would probably work but I don't want to have to buy another IR reciever or software if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You mean the Dell one? Things may have changed, but to get the bulk of the keys running I had to use Girder and the associated plugins. YMMV

Did any of the buttons work without girder? It would be nice to at least have the minimum buttons such as play/pause/fastforward/etc. I really don't want to spend anymore money if I don't have to.

Thanks.

Only the cursor/arrow keys (I think). If there's a way to get an MCE remote working with Sage otherwise then it 'should' work with this remote as well. But I don't know.

Yes-just use it. I didn't have to do anything special. But the special butons aren't going to work like "My Videos", "Guide" etc. All the basic buttons work, arrows, numbers, volume, channel, back, etc.

I have an MCE remote and never could get it to work with XP Home (I've been told it works with XP Pro edition) so I finally just bought a USB-UIRT and now the MCE remote works perfectly and every button on the remote works in Sage.

Good point-I also run it on Windows XP -SP2. I think SP1 was required to get the MCE Remote to work with XP Pro.

Actually I have XP Pro. And the remote works for windows media player and quintessential mp3 player, but it seems sageTV doesn't respond to it...not sure why.

You didn't try choosing anything for remote in Sage did you? It just works. And I'm assuming you are using the MCE receiver and not something else. Definitely the arrows on the remote should work-it's the same as using the arrows on your keyboard. And SP1 or SP2 is installed?
