Xcard + Sage UI
Hi, I'm wondering if you could combine the hardware decoded MPEG video from an Xcard with the overlayed Sage user interface by using a video card with an Svideo input and Svideo output (mabye an ATI All-in-Wonder) as described below:
Could you take a Svideo feed from the Xcard out to a video card with an svideo input, and have it display the Xcard's video full screen thru an Svideo out port? Seems like in order to do this you would have to use some sort of program to display "live video" (eg camcorder video) in a windows window and set it full screen. Furthermore, could you then add the Sage user interface as an overlay on top of this video from the Xcard? You would be running two programs, Sage and the "live video" program.. As long as Sage was "always on top" and it's "blank" video was transparent. Mabye the programs would have to be running maximized, not full screen. Could this work? Any thoughts? Thanks, Bryan J |

That's crazy. If you did all of that with the video how would you keep the audio in sync?
There's an Xcard plugin for Sage that allows the UI over an Xcard. It's in one of the forums. Xcard plugin Gerry

Yes, I realize that this is far fetched.. This would alleviate the sluggishness of the plugin. (Don’t get me wrong about the plugin though, I am using it and am grateful to have it) The audio sync could be adjusted with the audio playback delay setting.

It would also nullify the whole point of using the Xcard, that being maintaing the pristine interlaced stream. It would get mangled going through the video card's TV encoder (TV-out).
