Interesting sites. Dark room isnt a problem as most of tv watching is right before i go to sleep. Of course it will be awhile before i have enough time to actually do something like this.

OMG. The flat panel display returns. We had some cheapie VGA flat panels at work which were pretty bad-lots of light loss, needed a very bright overhead projector, and low resolution (640x480) display. IIRC, the overhead required a 400W bulb and had very noisy fans-not bad in a classroom/ computer lab environment, but very loud in a home theater environment.
hmm, maybe a laptop with a dead backlight, display cloning software that works over a network and a separate projection room with a rear projection screen so the fan noise is isolated from the theatre. |

yep, every overhead flat panel I've ever used (been a few
) has been craptacular (to say the least)
