Display won't show after some time off

Hi guys... I haven't posted in a loooong time. Haven't needed to things have been great. I had a stick of memeory go bad and cause some havoc on my sage box. Got everything back to normal except one thing and I can't figure it out. Hoped maybe someone had run across this.

After Sage has been asleep (to the screensaver) for a while, and the TV off... over night or during the work day. I can't get it to re-display any video on my Hitachi TV. Sage is working in the back ground... I can VNC to the box... change the resolution, and the TV/Video starts displaying. Then I set the rez back to my standard resolution and all is well till the next morning or afternoon.

Any ideas? This wasn't happening on my old install, and not much has changed. I'm sure some of the drivers are newer because my old install ran for almost 6 months without a hitch.

Thanks for any ideas!!

Do you have an ATI card and did you update the drivers?

I just updated to the latest drivers for my ATI 9600 and immediately started experiencing the same problem.

Sorry I should have mentioned the fact that I am running a ATI9700Pro at the moment.

Yes I decided to totally redo my server from format up. So I have the latest drivers. I had decided that it was a driver issue since nothing else has really changed. I turned all PM features off in windows and everything in bios that I can. SO I'm somewhat glad to know that it probably is drivers and maybe something a little older might cure the problem. Just have to figure out how far back to go.

Have you attempted to reinstall an older set yet?

I've tried 5.7 Cats, and still having the same issues. I am at 5.6 right now, waiting for things to do whatever its doing to "sleep". I will let you know my results. I've had a real nightmare finding and getting the drivers to install correctly. I hope I don't have to do too many more driver versions!

This is not the most active post, but I wanted to post my resolution so if it ever came up again maybe someone searching could find it.

Looks like ATI 5.6 Cataylst Drivers stopped the behaviour I was experiencing!

Thanks!

Good! I had forgot what version I upgraded from and didn't know how far back to revert to. I am busy preparing for an Alaska flyfishing trip and it'll have to wait 'till I get back.
