Receiver turns off after updates
Hello,
I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 receiver with Time Warner Cable. Sage turns the channels via a USB-UIRT. Everything works very well on a normal day. Occassionally though, my cable company wants to sent updates to the boxes. When this happens, my receiver turns off and does not turn back on automatically. This is incredibly annoying, especially when I have recordings scheduled for the next day. Is there a way for Sage to detect when the there is no signal/only black coming from the receiver (over S-Video IN) and turn the box on when it needs to record? Additionally, does anybody have the codes to turn the Explorer 2100 on? Thank you! - George |

There is no way for Sage to detect it or do it.

I have a Motorola 6200. I haven't gotten it setup with Sage yet, but I have been using it with CapDVHS to capture from the firewire port. CapDVHS turns it on if it's off when it starts to capture and turns it off when it's done. This is the ideal situation since you don't have to waste electric. I don't know anything about the Scientific Atlanta boxes, but all the Motorola ones I've tried can be easily and very reliably controlled through firewire or serial cable. Have you tried to do it through firewire or serial yet?
