Lightbulb Custom Sony K700/K750/W800 HID Profiles for SageTV

Well.. i've been on a splurgin spree.. and just got a new cell phone, Sony K750i.. anywho, this phone is one of the first batch of phones being released that has built in Blluetooth HID controls..

what does that mean? It means, if you get a bluetooth dongle/adapter for your PC/MAC you can then use your Sony K700/K750/W800 cell phone to control it! (there are other phones that also support this but i am an SE user)..

Here is my custom SageTV HID Profile for Sony Bluetooth HID Compatible phones.

want to make your own?? go over to Sony's Developer Site and get the HID Profile creator!

Thats all good and well but why would you want to use your phone to control your TV? 1- it will use up the battery life of the phone.
2- It's a very small screen to use
3- not very ergonomic.
I have a marantz rc3200 touch-screen remote that I find extremely annoying because of it's touch-screen. It just doesn't have any 'feel' factor. I imagine that a phone will suffer the same problem.

It's a good gimmick, but I just can't see any practical use for it.

P.S. - I just realised how negative this reply is. Sorry about that. Just woke up

its all good.. to each his/her own..

actually what this does is that it emulates your pc's mouse/keyboard via BT... as for battery life, not really that bad of a drain.. its not like i'm using the remote control functions every second... the screen only shows what functions relate to the keypad/joystick.. ie channel up and down are my refer to the softkeys on my phone.. so the disply just shows the commands and what key they are mapped too..

its mroe ergonomic than you would think.. i have my joystick on my phone to emulate the up,dwn, left, right arrows and the midddle button to be enter....

its more a "i'm a geek and i wanna impress my friends" kind of thing..

but i used my phone on my G3 mac for awhile when i only had one mouse....

but thought i'd just put this template i made out there for any other geek that likes to impress...

but no worries, it wasnt' that negative rather brought up valid points..
