Suggestion to have remote control like MCE.

hello forum,

i noticed a sw for MCE which i believe is very useful: http://www.niveusmedia.com/demo/control/index.html
are thier plans for sage to have same sw?

Though not nearly as elegant, you could setup VNC on your PDA or PDA/Cellphone combo.

Here's a screenshot of me controlling my Sage TV from my Sony Ericsson P910a cellphone.

I can control Sage TV from anywhere I have cell coverage. Of course response time is a bit sluggish. If you have wifi (which the above product requires) then I can control Sage TV very quickly. It's slightly slower than being right at the PC.

that is a good idea, i wish there was a client for sage for pocket pc/smart phones..
can you see via vnc video using wifi?

Live video via VNC (if you're able to get it to work) would just be painful. It would be more of a slideshow than "video". Of course there wouldn't be audio either.

A much better solution would be, as you suggest, SageTV Client for PocketPC or Windows Mobile. My cellphone/PDA uses the Symbian OS which supports Java very well. I wonder how hard the SageTV Client would be to port to Symbian OS?
