Question [help] How to make PVR-150 support closed captions?

Sorry, guys. I am not sure here is the right place to ask this question. If not, sorry for that.

I bought a hauppauge PVR-150 card with a remote controller. But unfortunately, I just realized that the original PVR-150 does not officially support closed caption, which is essential to me.Do you guys know how to make it support closed caption? Say, 3-rd party patches, or another player rather than WinTV2000? I need experts' suggestion!

Thanks in advance!

Sadly, no. MCE is the only PVR that can squeeze captions out of a PVR-150. And it does it via pulling it straight from the VBI pin and muxing it in as completely different stream in a DVR-MS file.

Thumbs up

Thanks, Jere!

Could you give me a little bit more information or hint about the closed caption principle? And, why PVR-150 does not support it? You look very professional. You know, English is not my mother language, and I wondering what is the use if no cc available. Now, the same cable signal in, TV can decode the cc, why the hauppage TV card can not?

Thanks in advance!
