What's the most stable version of Java for SageTV 3.0.x?
Occasionally, my SageTV 3.0.7 crashes. I just noticed that I had 4 different versions of Jave 1.5 installed (upates 1-4). I just uninstalled all of them, deleted their dirs and rebooted.
What is the most stable Java version for SageTV 3.0.x? Which version of Java was SageTV 3.0.x developed on?

Typically the most recent one (since they tend to be comprehensive), but YMMV. I've found that it's a very wise idea to uninstall any old versions resident on your machine prior to installing a new version (with Sage shut down)...most Java installers do NOT install over previous versions. I've gotten some crazy errors with more than one version installed. After clearing them and installing one, the problems went away.

I had issues with 1.5 as well. I uinstalled back to 1.4 and all is well again (with 3.0.7) I didn't know about uninstalling the old first. I assumed it over wrote the old install.

You know, I had issues with version 1.5 as well. I had random SageTV crashes. I unistalled 1.5 and installed version 1.4 and did not have anymore crashes.

I didn't want to post until I was sure... I removed all traces of Java, rebooted, and installed the latest version. I've had 0 problems with Java now. Completely stable.
