No Video, Haupaugge PVR 150/NVIDIA GEFORCE4 Ti 4200

Hi,

I'm trying to decide if SageTV is right for me. Unfortunately I'm stuck with no video.

My Coax Cable is running into my PVR 150 and Win TV is working fine. DirectX 9.0 is installed and I'm running Sage 2.2.8. In detailed setup/video the following is set:

Video Renderer: Overlay
MPEG2 Video Decoder Filter: SageTV MPEG Video Decoder
DXVA MPEG Mode: Default
DXVA Deinterfacing: Default
DScaler Deinterfacing Filter: Disabled

I don't know what to do at this point. Can someone perhaps point me in the right direction?

What's the problem? Is it not making recordings or is it unable to play them?

Do you have your system set up with 2 monitors (or monitor + TV)? Which one is SageTV on? Does it play video when the SageTV window is on the other monitor?

The Problem

The problem is that I haven't been able to set it up so it would show video. I only have one monitor. I get great sound but nothing on video.

So I can't see live tv, i can't record live tv (no video) - maybe I can record but I'm sure I wouldn't get video. I probably could play it back again with no video.

So at the most basic level I can't even watch Live TV.

Is the sound coming from a recording or something else? Is WinTV still running? If so make sure it isn't because only one app can use the 150 at a time.

If you go to Channel Setup, do you see anything if you select 'View' for some channel?

Go to the LiveTV Guide and use the Record command on some show. Once the airing is done, do you get a recording that you can play in some other program, like Windows Media Player?

Have you made sure the video card drivers are up to date?

Is 3D Acceleration on or off, in Detaied Setup -> Advanced?

(Just some guesses, since I don't know what is causing the problem.)

Got it working

Got it working. I changed Video Renderer to Default instead of Overlay. I have no idea why this works but I have video now and have been able to record and playback.

Thanks for the help...
