Which DXVA Mode?

Which DXVA Mode?

I've been playing with DXVA modes for watching DVDs (trying to eliminate these occasional pauses). Of course, there are modes A-D. Is there a resource somewhere that explains the difference, or is it a trial-and-error process to decide which one to use?
