Dual Monitor help (I did search the forums!)
Ok, first post here. I'm having a problem with Dual monitor, with different resolutions and Sage running fullscreen on the secondary monitor (1700x1000i). Basically, if I go full screen on my secondary monitor, the display only shows a small window, which correspond to the resolution of my primary monitor (1024x768).
Now, I did my searching and found people with this problem, but no solution. I saw people saying that you have to run sage on the primary monitor. Is that a requirement? In my case, sage on the primary monitor is just not an option. If I just can't have sage running full screen on my secondary monitor, then sage will have a short life on my htpc ... Any help is appreciated. If it's possible, some instructions would be great. If it's not possible, then a simple no would do! Thanks |

Ok, some more details on my situation.
I read a lot about how overlay and VMR9 might or might not work well on a secondary monitor and everything, depending on the video card. I also read a lot about how people are having high CPU usage with sage on secondary monitor. But in my case, I can't even get fullscreen display! Right now, I'm working on getting a fullscreen picture and then I'll work on the high cpu usage if that becomes a problem. I already tried VMR9, Overlay and VMR7 (default renderer) and two decoders: sage's and dscaler5. All with same results: a 1024x768 window with black around it. So, here's more details on my system. I have a 9800SE and I can run Zoomplayer (with ffdshow) fullscreen on my secondary monitor, using VMR9 renderless or windowless, no problems. My htpc is based on a DFI mobo K8M800, with a A64 +3000 and 1gb of ram. Oh and I'm using a wintv pvr USB2. The people that got high cpu usage, at least got a fullscreen picture. I'm wondering if they had the same resolution across both monitors. I'm getting the impression that you can't get a fullscreen picture on a secondary monitor if the resolution is not the same as the primary monitor. Can anyone confirm? A simple yes or no would be awesome! |

Finally solved my problem! I disabled 3d acceleration and now I can go fullscreen on my secondary monitor, with overlay, vmr7 and vmr9! And I'm not getting 100% cpu usage. I hope this helps more people on the future!
