Thanks for the tips, I've been reading the Studio docs as well, and I'll see if I can figure out the items that I'm looking to do for my personal tastes.

I did notice, that if I have Malore's menu set for Action to be Smart, when I select press select on a show, it starts playing it right away, but only in the window in the upper right. Same behavior if I click the Play button. But, if I click play again while it's playing, it goes full-screen.

I changed from Smart to Options, and it pops up the options menu from before, and then I click play and it works as expected, so I'm just going to stick with that, but I wondered if the Smart method is actually the expected behavior or not.

If you click it again, the Smart option also goes fullscreen. That's what Play does when the preview window is used for video playback on menus & it looks like Smart just mimics Play.

Are the files linked to in the first post of this thread the most recent? They mention 6.2.6 and 6.3.6 - I am running Sage 6.4.8.184 - will they work with this version?

There are no links to files in the first post... if you follow the links, those are just posts with info about the last changes & you'll see that the old test file attachments are no longer there.

This is all built into the default STV, so there is nothing to download.

Maybe I am thinking of the wrong thing - I read somewhere about changes made to the UI by Malore that changed things like the SageRecordings page so that it didn't scroll from last recording to first, add in auto Comskip, etc. Where would I find that sort of stuff?

I threw up a couple of snapshots of my Malore changes just to show what it looks like. I haven't addressed the scrolling issue I mentioned earlier, but for me, this increases the usability greatly.

It seems to me that watched shows are grayed out, and unwatched are white or green, with green being shows very recently recorded. There is also an Asterisk in front of the show where an episode is currently being recorded.

Is there any way to get the disk status bar without the other menu changes?

As the first post says near the top, under "THE UNOFFICAL FEATURE SET": you should be able to configure all/most items in Detailed Setup -> Customize. See the first post for details. If there is something that can't be turned on/off there, let me know.

That's the first place I looked, but there wasn't an "unsupported extras" option under Customize, so I figured this thread was for an older version of STV.

I just realized I have to already be in the 5309 mode before I can see them.. Thanks. -Bill

Since Table widgets can now use dynamic values for the number of rows and the wrap-around scrolling setting, I have re-added a couple options that were tested a long time ago but were too slow to keep. Let's see how they work out this time.

The changes:

1. Wrap-around scrolling is an optional setting in the Malore Menu Options dialog.
   
   
2. Per-view double height row and auto-double row settings are available again. Previously, double height rows was set per-menu, not per-view, and the auto-double row setting was not available at all.
   
   
3. The options for number of rows & so on should get applied as soon as the setting is changed instead of after closing the options dialog where the setting was changed.

Installation:

1. Make sure you are using SageTV Beta v6.5.13 or later.
   
   
2. Unzip the attached SageTV3_MaloreTest.zip into your <install dir>\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3 directory, making sure to keep the directory structure inside the zip file. This zip file is unzipped in the same dir where your STV files are located.
   
   This will add the updated SageTV3_MaloreTest.xml STV.
   
   
3. Inside SageTV, load the SageTV3_MaloreTest.xml STV.

The STV will report itself as v6.5.13.8a in System Information.

Bug:

When you turn off the wrap around scrolling the last "page down" or "page up" you do does NOT bring the highlight bar down to the last item or up to the first item. You have to arrow up or down to get to the last or first item. (Hope that doesn't sound too confusing) This is with beta 6.5.14.

Is it possible to resize the diskbar dynamically based on the font size selected? If not, can the size be increased so as not to cut off larger fonts?

I think this is fixed for the next update. I don't use it with wrap-around scrolling disabled, so you'll have to let me know if you see any other side effects once the next update is out.

No -- I size that bar so that it doesn't interfere with the menu title. I didn't think I even made the font size adjustable -- it looks like the existing code tells the font to shrink to fit, so it shouldn't get shown larger than the allotted space. Making it larger or moving it to some other part of the screen would be an import for someone else to do.

Detailed Setup - Customize - Minimum Font Size = 20 produces the above

It looks like there is room for the font if the padding were reduced on the top. Is that possible?

There is no added padding at the top; that is just part of the font. But, I can fix it so the minimum font size doesn't make the text too large to fit its display area.

These issues should be fixed in the v6.5.14 beta's downloadable STV update. Let me know if there are further problems.

There were problems with my previous fix, so a downloadable update is available to fix a couple more issues in the malore menus. Go to Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> Check for STV Update to get the update.

If that option is not available, the update file can be downloaded here:

You fixed the toggling down from the alternate view bars.... but how do I toggle back up to them without using a mouse... using only a keyboard?. I am not using the Icons or wrap around scrolling.

Well, normally, you would get back up there from the top of the icon bar...

But, I suggest that you not bother trying to get to the category bar at all & use what the tip at the top of the screen says when a category bar item is highlighted: use Smooth FF/REW or FF2/REW2 commands to quickly switch to the next/prev view. It took me a while to realize that you couldn't arrow off the category bar because I never go there.
