Is this a Sage bug or an EPG bug when HD channels are missing in the OTA lineup?

Who should I report this to?

Also should we be remapping the HD channels from their assign frequency to their digital addresses.

An example would be KSNW-DT which is channel 3.1 and is located on RF 45. Does Sage current even recognize 3.1? When I have tried to remap these channels Sage seems to loose the channel totally.

I have both the A180 and Fusion 5 Gold. At present the A180 is picking up more OTA channels than the Fusion does.

I am having this problem too, except a little different. I have two tuners, one for cable and one for DN. When I tune to a cable channel it displays LiveTV fine, but when I tune to satellite it displays a blank screen. I am using S-Video for satellite, but I know it is working because I am getting recorded programs from that tuner...

No guarantee the decoders will work with SageTV though. nVidia at one time decided only their OEMs would have access to this and would not sell it direct from their online store. Don't know if that is going to change in the future.
well you can get the Nvidia DVD decoder with purchase of certain hardware in the PCalchemy store... BUT nvidia recently DID open their store for direct purchasing of different tiers (with different audio/DD and of course prices) of the nvidia Pure Video decoder

PS I second the early inquiry about QAM 256 support... if not in windows with dvico... what about in linux with DVB driver support?

Thanks!
You can download a test clip from PCHDTV (at the bottom)

direct link (rename the file to whateveryouwant.ts ) it's like 30 some odd megs of PBS I think.

The EFF review of the eyetv 500 has an inset called "Can Your Computer Handle HDTV Mpeg streams?" with a link to a 5 minute .torrent of Lord of the Rings in HDTV. (I think it's around 500 (!) megs or so)

I've found Xvmc makes all the difference (video card depending) in HDTV playback, fwiw... even on a paltry AMD XP 1700 *shrug*

You can contact pcalchemy directly if you want to purchase the decoders separately (i.e. without buying a bundle).

LovingHDTV,
What exactly do you mean by "see everything", I have a Matrox dual head card but gave up on it for TV-Out a couple years ago. Can you see the user interface and the video on your set at the same time? Given the issues with the pvr-350's hardware decoding I'm looking for an alternative to use. Is it worth finding the drivers you mention?

Thanks,

Anybody here having problems with ABC channels? I live in close proximity to 2 different ABC stations and neither play well in 3.0.7. Both play perfectly in Fusion's software. All of the other HDTV channels I have (about 10) play smoothly but both ABC channels jump and have mangled audio, as if I had a weak signal, even though Fusion shows the signal at 90% on both.

I'd also like to know how to relable channels in the EPG. I have at least one error where the EPG has confused 2 channels for each other.

Unhappy EPG Missing DTV and HDTV Channels

I installed Sage V3.07 beta and configured by Avermedia A180 card. I am strictly using OTA with my card. After Sage pulled down the EPG from Zaptoit I found that not all of the DTV or HD channels are listed in the guide. Why and how can I add the missing ones?

Thanks
Gerry

Kingjamez, please try the below registry change. It appears that it is necessary for many people, including me, in order to fix stuttering on certain channels.

Change "NumBuffers" to 64 (0x40) in Common/DSFilters/MpegDeMux in the registry.

iceman, I have the same problem as you. I have a very important DTV subchannel which is missing in the EPG. I put in a bug report about not being able to manually add DTV channels/subchannels several weeks before version 3.0.7. I'm pretty sure that we will be able to do it by the next beta. They just didn't get to that issue yet.

I already reported both issue in the bug report form several weeks ago. I guess it wasn't high enough of a priority for them to fix them in the previous public beta release. I highly recommend you post a bug report about not being able to add DTA subchannels NOR and the channel remapping not working correctly. You can post a bug report by following the link mentioned in the first post in this thread.

I'm using some of Nielm's imports and am seeing an error reported in the logs.

Quote:
Mon 8/15 16:38:51.917 ERROR Cannot find translation file for STV:java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\ModifiedSageTV3_i18n, locale
I am running off a writable copy of the SageTV3.stv called ModifiedSageTV3.stv. Sage seems to be running just fine, but it just nags at me. I saw that there are property files in the STV folder that match the name of the original stv so I made copies of those as well and matched the names to my new stv but still get the error.

MKANET, Thanks for the update on the problem with the missing DTV channels and not being able to add them. Like you some of the channels I'm missing are important to me. If I at least had the option of adding them manually that would work for me right now.

Thanks
Gerry

Losing sound

I'm running SageClient 3.0.7 and I've discovered that if I open up TheaterTek or ZoomPlayer while SageClient is running that I lose sound in SageClient. I have to close SageClient and start it up again to get sound back. Anyone run into this problem?

Thanks,
Greg

So many sollutions and workarounds have been given for the EOF problem. SageTV is not solving it (see previous posts), cause they say it's a Hauppauge problem, while Hauppauge is saying it's SageTV's problem....

It seems to be a neverending story that never will be solved.... (yes, I have given up my last piece of hope since the latest beta's still have this "feature" )

Sounds to me like theatertek and zoomplayer are using the same codecs that Sage is. They take over control of the codec and thus Sage can't use it

Humanzee,
I only use the VGA output, not the tv out dongle cable thing.

No video capture devices were found

hi,
i just upgraded my (working) installation of V3.0.5.23 to V3.0.7.37 and now the source setup wizard says:

No video capture devices were found. Please install a video capture device to use with sageTV.

the logfile is recording some Hauppauge entries (see attached file) but the GUI seems no to know any about the PVR card...

any ideas?

Please don't upload debug logs to the forum (I removed it); save them for tech support when you file a bug report.

Are you running in service mode? If so, see what happens if you wait a little while. I had something strange happen the other day where a client said there were no configured capture devices, but once the service fully finished loading, everything was fine.

If the service is not involved, you could try making copies of your properties files & their backups, then deleting the originals in order to reconfigure when you start SageTV. You shouldn't _have_ to do this, but it could be one way to get things working again.
