Help getting 'Sage' to issue an IR command

I need to find a way to get ‘Sage’ to instigate an on/off toggle for my Direct TV box.

I’m using a USBUIRT with a Hauppauge 34 button remote.

All of my equipment is hidden away and in the event of a power failure my Direct TV box powers off and I would like to link one of the buttons on the remote to launch a command that forces the USBUIRT to issue a DTV power on/off toggle command.

Can somebody please point me in the right direction? Do I need to use Girder or is there some other simpler application that will help me to do this?

Thanks

Steve

To guard against power failures wouldn't you want the PC to send an IR command at system startup? Girder will do this but it would also be a neat feature to include into Sage - so that when Sage starts it issues a discrete <on> command to the STB.

I have the same situation as you btw; in the event of a power failure my cable boxes power back up in standby mode.

It seems to me that finding discreet codes for on/off is somewhat of a problem. I've done a search for my Direct TV H10-300 and so far have not been able to find a discreet code for on.

I've seen how I can modify the .ir file to include the Power command but I just need to know if it's possible to fire it upon a Sage event.

What are the Custom keys/ir commands used for? Would this help me?

Girder seems somewhat overkill and a bit scarey!

Cheers

Steve

I don't believe there is a way for SageTV to issue those extra IR commands, so you'll probably have to look into something like Girder.
