Question Will Sage TV Do this?

Hello,

What I would like to be able to do is reccord 1 show while watching another live on my TV. I would also like to have a show scheduled to record, but not intrupt me if it starts reccording while I'm watching live TV. I may want to pause/ rewind the live program while the other is recording also.

The system I currently have is:
WinXP Pro SP2
Athlon XP 2600+
512MB Ram
160GB HDD
5.1 on board sound
Radion 9200 Pro W/ TV Out

I was thinking about buying:
PVR 350
PVR 150

Will this SageTV, along with my hardware, allow me to do what I am hoping it will?

Also, how does the TV out feature work? Do I need to purchase a PVR 350, or could I use the TV out on my Radion 9200 and just buy 2 pvr 150's

Any other Tips?

Thanks.

Yes, it can do this as long as you have more TV tuners than shows you are trying to watch/record...

Obviously if you only have 1 TV tuner, you can not watch one channel and record another at the same time. You would need two TV tuners for that (either 2 PVR150's or 2 PVR250's or one PVR500, etc)

You can use the TV out from your video card. There is a lot of differing opinion on the QUALITY of different TV outputs though.

EDIT: Oh, and you will want a LOT more hard drive space than that... Well, at least if you are going nto record very much or keep recordings on the system for very long.

You can watch a prerecorded show while recording another with only 1 tuner.

I would strongly recommend you avoid the 350. While the output is great when it works properly. It is a constant source of problems and headaches because of bugs. I have been fighting 350 related problems since Oct 2003 and just about ready to give up using the 350 TV out, which would then be the same as a 250 card. There has been a lot of improvement of the software but still not 100% reliable.
