Client disconnects. All Requirements met.

I have attempted to connect to my SageTV server (2.2.8) with client (2.2.8) over the Internet. I have ports 7818 & 42024 opened in my firewall.

On the client, I can connect to the server, I can view the EPG, I can view various menu locations. And although I will often get dropped just browsing the menus, I will certainly get dropped the moment I try to watch TV.

I'm guessing that bandwidth is the culprit as I only have 256k upload on my cable modem account. Is there a way to have SageTV stream really low quality to my client across the Internet?

I'm surprised you can get the client to connect at all. Sage was designed for a local network only, not the internet (except for the webserver and that is for management and scheduling, not playing content.)

If you want to play content over the internet I would suggest www.orb.com. It's free and will transcode your media to an internet friendly bitrate on the fly.
