I need help (and no not so much due to the fact that the WAF has suddenly become important!)
I have been battling with my PVR500 for the last couple of months now (its taken this long to get enough time alone with the htpc without causing the WAF to go any lower), the problem I am having is that sage just doesn't want to play with both sources properly. Here's my setup: Athlon 2400+ 512MB RAM 1 x 20GB HDD (for OS) 1 x 160GB HDD (for apps & storage) ATI 9200 video (primary monitor 15" LCD, secondary sony 1272 CRT projector) PVR500 (there also a sound card in there somewhere) USB UIRT 2 x Cable TV set top boxes which for all purposes are identical I've cabled the STB's with an appropriate cable from the USB UIRT so I can have them zoned off, I've made the zone changes to each of the STB definition files for the remote & sage is quite happy with the config eg. it changes channels on each STB independantly. Now, the issue. if I select a pogram to watch sage happily changes the channel and show me the program using STB1, if I then change my mind & go and select another program it goes & uses STB2. If I then go and select a different program I see 1 of the STB's change channel (activity light goes on on relevent STB) but sage does NOT show me the newly selected channel (don't even get on screen notification of the STB changing channel) What have I done wrong & please help me get the WAF back into the green TIA Paul ![]() PS- if I remove one of the source definitions in sage everything works fine.... if I swap the sources eg. re-add the ones I just removed & remove the other everything still works with the excpetion I can't watch one while recording something else

I will reply, not because I know UIRT or have any clue what could be wrong, or have much hope of actually helping but only becuase no one else has replied. I confused myself a couple of times sorting out channel change issues, perhaps it is not so tricky, its just one of the IRs is not working or their crossed up.
When I had to sort out channel change issues with 3 boxes I narrowed down not just watching but by manually recording the channel to essentially lock the tuner to the box. Then i would hit the info button on sage and the box to verify both were truely on the correct/same channel. I would then manually record a second channel to lock the 2nd tuner to the 2nd box, press info on sage and the box to ensure both were on the same channel. At this point test channel changing by selecting anouther channel, at which point sage will ask you which recording to stop in order to change channel, select based on which tuner/box combo you want to test. do this a couple of times to determine if just one of the tuner/box setups is wrong. |
