Sage Hangs then recovers. ideas?
Hi There,
I've been having a problem for weeks that is really, really, really annoying. Sage records fine. Sage plays fine. I've spent alot of time on my setup and the thought of a harddrive wipe & reinstall makes me sick. -After watching a recorded show I tell sage to "Delete Now" -sage pops up a "Are you sure you want to delete" -After selecting "YES" sage: -sometimes hangs for 20-30 seconds. or -sometimes it's fine. -When it does hang, as you're moving the mouse around it will still highlight "YES" or "NO" even though you've already choosen "YES" and it's working on something -If you click again (on "YES" or "No) then when sage returns from it's 30 second vacation it will then process your second click on whatever screen is up next. -Sometimes after clicking "YES" it will come back after 15-20 seconds and the show will remain in SageRecordings (not deleted.) It's really very frustrating. I see the same behaivor using the MediaMVP client on a seperate Client Installation on the server. No other applications running and processor usage during the freeze seems normal. I thought it may be due to a network drive used to record to or maybe a user/password issue but I removed this drive from the setup and I have the same issue using only drives local to the server. What could sage be doing for 20-30 seconds??? Ideas to try anyone? My sage server: 2.4GHz, P4, 1GB ram PVR250 PVRUSB2 sage runs as a service using sage webserver using mediamvp client using maldude2 stv Network Encoder PVR-150-low profile running full sagetv install as network encoder and client. all is XP pro & UNC paths for video directories |

OK, I think this is caused by a network encoder being turned off.
I thought sage was robust enought to cope with the loss of an encoder but on my setup it seems to cause hangs for 20-30 seconds. |
