Client Streaming Question - Imported Videos

If my Sage server is accessing the imported video library (where the videos exist on a NAS device) via UNC path, how will the Sage Client access those same files?

Meaning, will the Sage client be smart enough to find the shortest path to the files, or will it make the extra hops through the Sage server to reach them?

Almost all media is streamed from the server to the client, so the client doesn't need direct access to the media's location, nor does it try to directly access the media.

Edit: however, some customizations require direct access to the media's location. In that case, the client has to be able to access the file location listed on the detailed info page for the recording or imported video. This is where the client could make use of that UNC path.
