The default recordings menu _does_ normally sort this way, it will also show how many days ago the show was recorded. If you turn on 'Show Status Icons in Recodings menu' (Settings->Advanced->STV Enhancements) you'll be able to easily distinguish 1st runs from repeats.

Hope this helps.

Bug?

Watch a show with comskip autoenabled. When the commercial is at the very end of the show, the popup appears and says menu or delete. If you try to scroll back and watch the video-- you hear sound but no video.

Typically important if say, there is no commercial at the end or you want to see next weeks preview. Way around this would be to turn off auto-comskip obviously.

Hi,

Crashless, i am new to the whole stv stuff, and i have just put your's in sagetv. I really like the way it looks!

There is two things i can't find anywhere. Where is the livetv guide? I'm talking about the matrix with all channels and programs in one view? I see a screen capture on your website, but i can't find it anywhere in the program.
Also, i can't find a way to watch live tv. I can only find recordings i did, but no way of scrolling through a guide and simply pick a program to watch.

It is probably all there, but i must be overlooking something obvious.

Cheers,
Henk99

Make sure Watch TV is highlighted and just hit Enter.

So when the popup comes up, are you just hitting ESC to get rid of it, and go back? This might be problematic because of what happens just before the popup is triggered. I'll see if I can reproduce it tonight after the wife is done watching Grey's Anatomy...

Like gplasky said, if you select the 'watch tv' main menu item on the left, and hit enter (select) you'll get the live guide. You can also map a remote button or keyboard key to go directly to it as well.

Your second question sounds very similar to your first, is it answered by the same solution? If not, let me know what you're looking for.

Not obvious at all - I've been thinking about making an optional sub-menu item that goes to it - just like there is for the 'Recordings' menu. Because you can also go directly to the "recordings' menu by selecting the 'My Shows' left menu item.

Not difficult to make it a main menu item, but it kind of gets away from the current metaphor of a title->subcategory. If the main menu item is 'RSS News' what goes on the right side?
yeah, you are absolutly right... i was just testing you to make sure you hadn't lost sight of the dream

Jukebox: that'll probably need to be a new menu, have you seen abasu's 3 pane menu? I could implement that pretty easily:
the 3 pane is a the best detraction from the sage jukebox i've seen, but doesn't match this stv's layout. i am so glad they have released studio as the one and only thing i hate about sage is the jukebox. i can't wait to rip into it.

Thanks Crashless and gplasky! I can't try right now, but i will when i get home later today. I was only searching for it in the sub-menu's. I didn't think of trying it from the menu itself......doooooh!

Crashless, i myself wouldn't mind having a submenu item for these two. I am trying your STV on my office pc now, but i am sure that when i go 'live' with it, my wife will not find the guide Maybe like you said, as an optional menu.

Like is said, i really like to look and feel of your STV.....keep up the good work!!

it doesnt matter if i hit esc or not. I can rewind 10 sec/2min and keep the popup on screen. I get no video, only sound.

I'll make it available for menu configuration, you'll be able to put it in any menu you want.

I think SageTV unloads the media file before that popup appears, so it really shouldn't allow you to do anything - I don't know why it is just playing sound, it shouldn't…

Have you had this issue with the other STVs? Maybe try Nielm's import for the standard STV and see if it happens. I can't find anything different with my STV from the others…

Wow.
I just started playing with .STVs today, and have looked at a few of the ones available. This one is fantastic!!

Somes questions:

How do you get out of the guide and back to the home menu using either the mouse or keyboard?
I agree that the guide is hard to find. I saw that there are some possible user customizations to the menus, etc. I would like the "Watch TV" menu to include Recordings, LiveTV, and Program Guide. My Shows could then change to be Search, ,and include the browse, history, find a show, and future recordings... Is this possible?

I realize that this changes the core of the stv a bit, but I think I did see something about speaking up if you want to see something included

I've just install Meekell 0.5 STV. Really nice..... Question on setting up the weather. I answerd the questions (went to weather.com and got my city info, 7days of forecasts and english readings) but when I check weather the screen just says Loading..... How can I fix this? Thanks.

The default keyboard key to get to the main menu is the 'Home' key above 'End'.

I suppose it's possible to be able to switch the 'Watch TV' Menu so that it's just another menu, but it'll take some work. I'll see how difficult this would be to implement. I should be able to easily make 'LiveTV' and 'Program Guide' items for the menu options so you can create the menu you want. For now, I have a button mapped to 'LiveTV' which makes it much easier than finding a main menu item in most cases - it's also global, so you can just hit that buttom from any menu.

Hmm. I recently posted for someone else having issues similar to this. Look back a few pages for some things to try. Otherwise, I'm planning on integrating the new standard STV weather routines which are 'cleaner' and should work more easily for everyone.

Thanks for the feedback. Things have been crazy lately (again), but I've made some fixes and should have some more time to work on things in the next few weeks for a new release.

Yeah, I was watching TV in bed and looking at that HOME icon last night and realized... Hey - I wonder what the home key does Thanks for the quick answer though.

The main reason I ask is that the "Watch TV" menu seems to be the default on the main menu, and shows the Rec Sched. While the Rec Sched is one of my most commonly checked menu items, I go to Recordings more often (In order, I would say Recordings, Rec Sched, Prog Guide, then the rest). For WAF reasons, I'd like to include Live TV as she hasn't yet totally come around to watching recordings and still likes to channel surf. So if all those were in the same place, I'm less likely to have to take my HTPC out of the living room

I'm having this problem too, but haven't had much time to look into it.

Crashless,

Nevermind, found the settings in the properties file(s). Something interesting, however. The Harmony 676 remote is sending the FF / RW command(s) twice. If the FF time is set to 30 seconds, you get 60 seconds. I just halved the times and all is well.

I've been using and trying translate your excellent STV into dutch.

So far no problems except one:

Whenever I activate the DVD menu now, I only get the menu (backgrounds and highlight),but no text on it.
The menu still works, but I can't see what I'm selecting.

I'm running VMR9 with FSE, Nvideo Decoder (Purevideo decoder on Nvidia 5200).

This problem still exists if I use the old, unaltered STV.
TV menu is fine, with the same above rendering settings.

I was able to reproduce this on my system, though at first glance I'm not sure what's happening. I'll take a look, it should be pretty easy to fix.
