Test for server discovery by Client

I would like to ask for some feedback on a feature that hadn't been publicized until now, so no one might have known it exists, especially since most clients are probably already configured to automatically connect to the server.

When the client starts w/o having been configured to automatically connect to the server (in Detailed Setup -> General), it should be able to automatically search for any existing server(s) and list the results in a drop-down box in the dialog that asks for the name or IP address of the server to connect to.

Has anyone tried starting the client w/o having it automatically connect in Detailed Setup? If so, do you get a list of servers to connect to?

BTW: this process uses port 8270 with the UDP protocol for any possible needed firewall changes.

Thanks for checking.

Worked for me. I only have one server but it showed up very nicely with my 2 clients.

Thanks - maybe I'm the only person that feature doesn't like, then. ... and it is hard to document it when I can't get a screen shot of it!

BTW: are your servers running as a service & does anyone have more than 1 server running?

Well, I would like it to actually work for me too. That's really what I'm trying to narrow down.

Non-service mode, and it detects my server fine. I DO have all XP firewall stuff turned off on all my Sage systems (they're behind a hardware firewall anyway). No problems at all .
