Favorite Did Not Record
One of my favories did not record and I'm not sure why. I checked to make sure that it is set for any time, any channel, first runs and reruns. How do I "debug" this to see why it did not record?
I'm still a Sage noob. Searching did not really get me anywhere. |

Thanks Andy. This is a useful pointer.
Is there a way to "look back" and see what happened? I checked before the show was supposed to be recorded and it looked to me like it was set up properly and would be recorded as planned. When I came home expecting to see the show, it wasn't there. Is there any way to do a post-mortem to see what I did wrong? The show was a one time deal and will not be replayed. I was hoping there was some type of log file or history file I could look at that would tell me what Sage did and why it did it. I'm still learning about Sage and I appreciate your patience. Tom |

It could be that it was set-up to record, did indeed record, but was deleted, possibly due to some error.
This happened to me last week. One of my favorites was set to record. I checked at the time it was airing, and saw it recording. At the end of the show, we go to put it on, and can't find it. I looked through the hard drives with some undelete utils and found 12 0 byte segments starting 5 minutes apart. I guess there was some recording error and sage deleted it.... I wish there was an error log that sage used so that you can see what happened. -- amg |

There really isn't a way to look back, except to see if there is some other recording that was made at that time. Perhaps there was a last-minute schedule change from an EPG update. Or, like amg said, it is possible there was a recording error & the file was dumped. (SageTV was running at the time, right. )
Oh, and I don't think that FAQ listed these: the SageTV Recordings menu's Options Menu (use Options command) isn't filtering out Favs, is it? The recorded file doesn't exist? It isn't listed in the library? - Andy
