Adding aspect ratio to Hauppauge 45 remote

I have been reading all the threads I can find and am still a little confused.
I would like to program the Hauppauge 45 key remote to add the aspect ratio function to the currently unused Sub/cc (#) key.
This is to make it easy to switch from "source" to "16x9" when playing anamorphic (or 2.35:1) DVD's.
If anyone has done this can you please leave simple instructions, or point me to an easy to understand thread?
THanks

You just need to assign a keystroke (or event code, if using Windows messages) to that button in irremote.ini in your Windows dir, restart ir.exe, and then assign that keystroke to the command you want it to be. (See the links in my sig lines.)

Alternatively, if using v3, just go to Detailed Setup & assign that button to a command. (V3 has built-in support for the 45-button Hauppauge remote.)

Thanks...can you just clarify where I find "(See the links in my sig lines.)"?
I am not sure how to find that info.
Cheers

Actually, if all i wanted to do was to be able to cycle through the aspect ration settings by repeatedly hitting the same button, would the entry look like this:

SUB/CC={findwnd(SageApp,SageWin)}{SendMsg(1258,0,47,48,49,50)} ?

Or do I need to enter the 47,48,49,50 in some different manner?

I got it to work with a single command, for example "47", but that is a little pointless upon further experimentation.

Thanks

Well, the "sig lines" are the signature lines at the bottom of my post, unless you've got the forum option set not to see such things.

You wouldn't be able to use a method that can send the series of aspect ratio commands, since that would just send all four commands & leave it set to the last one sent.

You could use 2 buttons: 1 for each of 2 ratios you want to toggle between.

OK, thanks for the help....I wasn't sure if what I was trying to do was possible or not. At least now I can program a single button!
bravo.
