I have found that sometimes you need to restart Sage to get FSE VMR9 to work, and to switch back to overlay if you disable it, (otherwise you get blank screens) but otherwise it appears to work for me... This is with the sage decoders on an NVidia FX5200.

Bug report posted. FSE vmr9 doesn`t work on my geforce 6200a, and indeed breaks teh whole sage installation, overlay, default or VMR9 from then on. I think I`ll wait till it`s a bit more stable!

There is nothing to be afraid of. If you want to be really safe, just backup your entire frey technologies folder. You can always uninstall and reinstall 2.8 and copy over with your backed up folder.

Hi,
I did a quick check of 3.0.3 beta and have encoutered these problems, but I would like to have some feedback before submitting a bug report: - Why are in LiveTV Guide the english dates (i.e. 7/23 instead of 23.07., 3:00 PM instead of 15:00 as we use here in Germany? This worked in 2.2.8 - Why can't I still rename a recording? Why can't I export/import texts from/to wiz.bin? Only way I know of is nielms webserver... So again, if I get a corruption in wiz.bin I better have a backup.... Well, this isn't a bug but rather a feature request ;-) I was not able to setup a tvtv.de source, these problems occured: - I could not activate a trial. -> tvtv error 12 - some keys could not be pressed, so I was not able to enter my login name and my password if they contain these letters First I did an update to 2.2.8, then I did a complete uninstall and a fresh install, all problems occured on both scenarios. Can anybody confirm any of these? Oliver

I saw a few people asking about Cayars under the v3 beta - last night I loaded the new beta (without breaking anything, I was impressed!) on all my machines and am running Cayars 18E without trouble on my server machine. I've also used it momentarily on one of my clients without trouble. Everything appears stable and good (minus some of the above mentioned problems) at this point.
-Adam [EDIT] - just wanted to mention that I haven't seen any problems yet Last edited by ajuhawk; 07-23-2005 at 08:28 AM. |

Fullscreen Exclusive seems to work on my other client. It has a 6800GT and uses the same nvidia decoders as my other client with a 6600GT that doesn't work. |

Well , It all started nicely, went through the setup wizard, no problems.
Watched a video - no problem, watched live tv, no problem, tried to change channel - aaarg. Read Gplaskys note, updated my Java, restarted. Complete unrecovarable freeze. After it recovered, sage refused to play ball, kept saying it couldn't access the file system. I uninstalled, put back my V2 stuff, same error I had to reinstall V2, then copy my properties and wiz.bin, finally I was back to where I started this morning. Oh well, I may wait until the channel change bug is ironed out - Im shocked that got through Alpha testing, but such is life. BTW - Do we know if a CD player is going to be included in V3 later on ? Cheers Mark |

Though not a representative of SageTV, I just want to make a comment.
Because of the flexibility that SageTV provides (configuration options, custom STVs), there is a virtually unlimited number of potentially untested vectors of differences out there. The first beta exposes these. You all are good to report what you're seeing and to specify the STVs and other configuration changes that you've made. I know this will help SageTV (and the STV authors) to iron out issues with the new beta. Hang in there everyone. |

I remm not using SageTV Customizations mod in fact you should start with clean install
1: Uninstall SageTV 2: Copy wiz.bin and wiz.bak some where. 3: Del the old folder C:\Program Files\SageTV\ and or C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\ 4: Re install SageTV 5: Setup the way you want or had it before with no mods 6: Close 7: Copy wiz.bin and wiz.bak over wirte the old one C:\Program Files\SageTV\ and forget copy over the Channel Logo to. 8: Restart SageTV Last edited by SHS; 07-23-2005 at 01:57 PM. |

Any word on a fix for the PVR-350 End of File problem? I have too much to record this weekend to risk messing with my current install.

I had to remove those lines from both systems before Windows Media files would show up. WMV files are just fine now but WMA files still don't show in Music by album. In Music by Artist I get a single unnamed button that when clicked gives me a list of individual songs. Same list as in Music by Song Title. See my screen shots. Also, I too am getting the channel change problem but the video didn't freeze untill the 4th or 5th channel change. Stop got me back to the main menu. Last but not least again regards the Jukebox. I just got to say that the UI, even if it did list the music files properly, would be nearly unusable for more than a few albums. I'm hoping that the adding of support for WMA was the priority and that there is a drastic change planned in the Jukebox UI planned for a later beta. I really like a 2-pane view. The left pane styled like a file explorer with expandable categories (Album Artist, Artist, Album, Genre, etc.) If you expand the Album Artist category for example, you get a list like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, etc.. Each of those categories is, in turn, expandable to show the albums by that Album Artist. If you highlight an Album Artist that artists albums are listed in the right pane. If you highlight an album, the songs on that album are listed in the right pane. Sage please, please, take a look at Windows Media Player or J. River Media Center to see how a Jukebox UI should be done. Oh, and please make use of both Album Artist and Artist tags. Album Artist is immensly useful. |

Oh. I guess I should change that comment about making the thumbnails hidden on p. 94 of the v3 manual... - Andy

Anybody have success installing 3.0.3 over 2.2.8 and rolling back Java to 1.4.2_xx? Is it the Java updates that are causing the "channel change" freezes? Or is it something else in the program that is causing it? I'd really like to use V.3, but my first try was unsuccessful.
Thanks, Rob |
