Using the secondary tuner in PVR-500 with another program ?

Hi

Browsing the different threads about Live TV (internet streaming) to Windows Media Player, i understand that this is not supported by SageTV.

Would it be possible (without having to shut down SageTV) to use the secondary tuner on the PVR-500 with i.e. VLC to stream to WMP? (Given that the secondary tuner is not used in SageTV)

BTW: SageTV also works fine on W2K3 (as long as you only use WDM certified drivers)

Regards,
The Dane

Even though the PVR500 appears as 2 tuners I believe the card is "grabbed" by the software. That's also why you can't watch TV and play the FM radio at the same time on cards so equipped. If you actually had a seperate tuner (like a PVR150) you could do it that way.

So i guess that is a No. Would the software then also grab another tuner card, if i were to put i.e. a PVR-150 in the PC ?

That is a no on your original question. If you don't configure Sage for the card, then the software won't grab it. So stick the card in. Start Sage and it is using your PVR500 (both tuners.) Sage knows nothing about the PVR150 you just stuck in so use any other software you want with it.
