Playback of home-made DVD's on mediaMVP
Hi all,
I compiled a DVD from several home videos with nice menu's etc. It playss perfectly with SageTV on the PC, but refused to play on the MVP. The screen stays black. And no, the sound is not AC3 but plain and simple MP2. Am I trying to use a not supported function or is one of the settings mistaken? Here is a part of the logs di 07/19 22:46:17:671 16 INFO GuiServer.settingsReceived: settings: MVPSettings[tvMode=PAL, output=COMPOSITE, flickerReduction=MEDIUM, aspectRatio=16x9] di 07/19 22:46:51:765 18 SEVERE MediaServer.prepareMediaFile java.io.FileNotFoundException: E:\Home Video\Denise Thom\VIDEO_TS (Access is denied) at java.io.FileInputStream.open(Native Method) at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source) at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source) at ch.streams.mvp.mediaserver.MF.<init>(Unknown Source) at ch.streams.mvp.mediaserver.MediaServer.prepareMediaFile(Unknown Source) at ch.streams.sage.mvp.MVPMediaPlayer.load(Unknown Source) at sage.VideoFrame.if(Unknown Source) at sage.VideoFrame.a(Unknown Source) at sage.VideoFrame.access$100(Unknown Source) at sage.VideoFrame$4.run(Unknown Source) at java.awt.event.InvocationEvent.dispatch(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForHierarchy(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(Unknown Source) di 07/19 22:46:51:765 18 SEVERE MVPMediaPlayer.play: play without load, play ignored |

@SHS, too bad, but I thought all the processing was done by the PC and the MVP was merely a GUI-front-end. The DVD-on-harddisk is being played perfectly by SageTV
@Crashless, based on the logs that would be a correct assumption. However, plain MPEG2-videos residing on the same drive are accessible by the MVP. It's just the DVD-on-harddisk that gives errors. |

Based on Stream' known-issues I thought I would be possible, see
http://www.streams.ch/index/mvpclient/issues 8. Rippend DVDs will only play if the audio is re-encoded to MP3. AC3, the standard audio format for DVDs, is not supported by the MVP |
