MCE 2005 Remote

I have a MCE 2005 remote. The volume buttons don't work with Sage for me.
Any ideas?
The channel up and down works fine. I don't want to use girder.

Also, can the other buttons like DVD and Live TV work w/Sage?

They are programmable to a TV remote's volume control, in which case they won't do PC volume; perhaps a previous owner did this? A search on the web might reveal instructions on how to reset to the default.

Only if you use Girder or someting similar. You can use Girder for just those buttons, that's what I do - all the ones that work out of the box I've left alone.

What is Girder? Is it just software or is it hardware too?

Girder is just software. But the volume up/down work fine for me with Sage and MCE 2005 remote. Did you remap the volume keys in Sage?

I got the volume controls to work for my PC.
When I looked at Girder, there are a couple different versions.
Girder 3.3
Girder 4 Standard
Girder 4 Pro

Will all of these versions work for me to map the other remote keys to Sage?

If you're using a usb-uirt with your MCE remote then you don't need girder. I don't know about the receiver that comes with the remote, I never could get mine to work and girder looked like more trouble than it was worth (for me at least). So I just picked up a usb-uirt.

I have the same remote you do and have every button on it mapped to a Sage Function.
