woohoo... remote controls. :)

I just won an Marantz RC5200 on ebay for $137.50.



I don't know what they go for now but I know they were a 600 dollar remote not too awful long ago.

I hope it's more flexible than my logitech harmony or my RCA touch screen remote. I haven't been real pleased with either of those.

The 659. I just don't like the "task based" setup of the harmony. I want to be able to put an entire remote into my universal and go "ok, that's THAT device. Now what can I add to it that the original remote didn't have?" Then go program some custom buttons and macros.

Not entirely sure. I think the pronto's use an RF extender and the marantz's have rf built in... But I'd say that the TSU7000 is probably more comparable to the marantz 9500 because it's a color TFT compared to the greyscale on this one. That said, I've never used one of the pronto's so I don't know exactly how they compare.

Woohoo again. Just recieved my RC5200 in the mail. Now to get sage to communicate happily with it.
