Jukebox doesn't jive?

Last night I fed my music archiv to the Jukebox - and ended up with some David Bowie, Vivaldi, Mozart, Frank Zappa and a few more albums to pick from. Hm.

Then I had WMP 10 build a library from the same archiv which appeared to be complete. Fed the same archiv again to the Jukebox. And now I seem to have some 30% of the albums listed.

I did some reading, and for now, the working theory is that itunes (running on my G5) could be the culprit. I digitized the last big chunk of my music collection using that machine. However, some of those are showing, and CD's done quite some time ago - on windoze box with wmp - do not.

I remember reading that Sage makes use of ID3 tags which come in different flavors. Is there a program that might be able to overcome all this?

What format are the music files? SageTV can only play MP3 and WAV files.

I use MusicMatch Plus for creating the tags with great success.

(I'm lazy, so here's a cut and paste from an old post of mine...) I ripped my CDs to MP3 with WMP & it filled in the ID3 tags automatically (you can even use it to embed the images if you want). But when I wanted to change things, I found that MP3 Tag Tools was useful and free.

The MP3 Tag Tools indeed can fix this. Synchronize and save the selection, then refresh the library. The problem seems to be that the jukebox requires the old id tags. MP3's ripped with WMP don't have that issue because WMP writes both versions whereas iTunes only cares to build the newer version.

Has this been fixed in 3.0?

SageTV v2 & v3 should be able to use both/either ID3 v1 & v2 tags. I you have an example of a v2 tag that isn't working properly, perhaps send it to SageTV to see what the issue is.
