Please Help New User

Hello, I just got SageTv w/Hauppauge PVR500 and an ATI Radeon 9250. I can't seem to get the video (Live TV) to show on the TV. I can see it on the windows desktop fine but not on the TV, everything is showing on the TV fine (windows desktop, All the Sage Menus) but no TV. While I'm at it is there any way to get the Radio tuner on the PVR500 card to work in SageTV. Please help.
Thank You
Deborah

I believe this was mentioned somewhere else (or maybe I'm confusing my htpc pvr forums)... But if you have two views hooked up (ie monitor and tv), and the tv is the secondary... It won't work because it doesn't get hardware accelleration (the secondary that is). Try (and I don't know exactly how to do this off the top of my head) making the TV the primary screen and the monitor the secondary. See if that allows you to view the tv on the... tv.

How are you running the 2 screens -- the same thing on both (clone) or two seaprate screens where you can drag a window from one to the other?

If you are running in something like clone mode (or whatever it is called in the ATI driver), then you probbaly won't get video in some cases -- I think it is overlay that doesn't clone, but it has been a while since I did that. Maybe someone w/an ATI card can give specifics. (SageTV will display on both the TV & the monitor in this mode.)

You could go into Display Properties & extend your Windows desktop onto the 2nd monitor (the TV). Then, if you want to use 3D Acceleration & especially VMR9, you'll have to choose the option to make that screen your primary monitor. After that, just drag the SageTV window to that screen & run it on the TV. You may have to drag the task bar & icons back to your monitor. (SageTV will only be visible on the TV in this mode.)

No, SageTV does not use the FM tuner.

Not sure about clone mode but if you use the two displays as seperate desktops the video will play in either screen. I using an ATI X300
