Girder + Streamzap remote

I am trying to setup Girder to use the streamzap remote. I followed the directions posted by Stanger89, I downloaded the latest girder program (3.3.9c) and then the plugin for the streamzap remote. Everything appears to be working fine but when I try to "learn event" I press the remote button and nothing happens in girder. It just sits there waiting. I know the remote is transmitting because I see the little red light on top of the IR reciever light up.

I did try uninstalling the streamzap remote program before trying girder. The streamzap remote works just fine with its own program, so the remote appears to be working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
