simple PVR 500 question

Hey all, thinking about upgrading my lonely TV card to the dual tuner version (yes, I am one of the few holdouts with only one PVR card in my system). I have DTV. Which inputs will I be able to use to input two sources? Coaxial, S-Video, and Composite---choose 2 out of the three? Or is it only coaxial and S-video?
Thanks
JUC

Choose any two out of the three. And you can, if you want, use the coaxial twice I believe.

Oh, and you can get another back plate that plugs into the card for abouot £15, so that you can have two composite or two S-Video inputs going into the same card.

The RF feed has an internal bridge (single coax-in for tuner). You can utilize 2 SVid inputs if you get the external adapter plate. PCAlchemy has 'em for ~$14. Do you mean Digital "cable" TV by DTV? Or do you mean D*? As in DirecTV?

I use one coax, and one rca, but as others said, there are options.

I just wanted to make sure you weren't throwing away your current tuner, because my 500 works great with my 350. Why settle for 2 when you can have 3?

Why settle for 3 when you can have 6! (2x500, 2x250 )

Just to reiterate the input flexibility of the PVR500, one PVR500 can have ANY combination of the one or both or it's tuners being feed by coax, SVid or composite.

In all seriousness here, are there ever 6 things on you want to watch at once?

For me, yes. Sometimes even 7.

Watch at once no, record at once yes. Also allows for padding and/or accomodating some of the weird start/stop times without as many challenges...

I love it when I forget that I started a post. Anyway, thanks for the info--for some strange reason when the 500 first came out I thought that you could only use the two inputs if you were using them as tuners (no idea why i thought that though). Well, looks like i will be adding a dual tuner to my lonely single setup!

Yay! Now expect to run out of recording space next week, and start looking for deals on HDs.

Tell me about it. This is going to require a big configuration change for me. I'll be going from a single tuner shuttle to a 3-tuner client/server setup having my shuttle act as my client. But, i'm going to need to buy another XP license, the 500, and more HD's....oh well--its been way too long for me to be using sage to only have one tuner
