Angry No Audio from Tuner #2 on PVR-500

I have a feeling this has been discussed before...

I recently installed a PVR-500 in my HTPC, along side my PVR-150. I am using SageTV Service Mode to record programs, and am using TVEdia to play content through my XCard. I modified the TVEdia skin and scripts to allow it to display the records from SageTV, along with the information from the mpg.xml files (courtesy of Cayar V18).

Now for the problem...

I have SageTV configured to use the PVR-500 for recording, ignoring the PVR-150, which I use from TVEdia for live tv and the occasional manual recording. Most of the recordings from the second tuner in the PVR-500 have no audio!

By shear chance of course, this would be the tuner that records a lot of my wife's programs, making me very popular right now.

If I reboot, it would seem that the audio works from the 500-Tuner 2 for a while, how long I am not sure.

What can I look at to try to solve this? I am VERY desperate at this point.

FYI - I have version 2.0.28.23053 of the drivers installed, for the 150/500.

HELP!!!!

Edit: Hey - I got moved to Hardware!!! Bugger to hell I thought I had lost my mind! Anyone have any idea???

Just to be sure, have you tried playing a file recorded by the PVR-500 tuner #2 with WMP on another computer? Because, if it has audio then you have a decoder issue. If not, then I think you need to determine if its sage or the encoder. I am not sure if the pvr-500 came with winTV (if it did I never installed it) but, if so, try and record video from it in that. Just FYI, I have the PVR-500 working fine on Win 2003 and 2.2.8. Qucik question are you updated on 2003, sp1 installed?

The only thing I remember hearing at some point in the past was that someone did a HCWCLEAR, rebooted, & re-installed the latest 500 drivers. You could always check with SageTV's tech support to see whether they've heard of such a problem w/the 500.

Yeah when all else fails nuke em with HWClear. I've had that fix a load of problems (though it didn't turn my Roslyn cards in to something actually usefull.)
