FIXED.......Trading one problem for another (remote issue now)
I think i got my problem with my pvr-150 not recording sound when anything else is used that required sound, but now the remote control fails to initialize any time other than after windows starts up. This is a fresh install of winxp sp2.
I have a pvr 250 and a pvr 150. The 250 has the hauppage ir cable going into it. It doesnt work with either of the old style or new style hauppage remotes. I do not have any cable boxes to control, just regular coax from the wall to the computer. I have reinstalled sage, reinstalled ir drivers, changed irremote.ini files and nothing works. I installed beyond tv to see if i could record and get sound from the 150, which it did, and the remote worked in that. I got annoyed with their menus so i uninstalled it. The remote worked once after i uninstalled it. I was able to pause in wmp and now that doesnt even work. Any suggestions?? thanks Last edited by rich_l; 07-13-2005 at 04:57 PM. |

The Hauppuage remote software will choose on its own which card to use, so it is a matter of connecting the receiver to each card, on at a time, & seeing which one the driver its using. From your post, I _think_ you mean that it works on the 150 at first & then stops working eventually and can't be restarted w/o rebooting. If that is the case, see this thread & some links near the end of it for a new driver: PVR-150 Remote Initialization Failed.

Fixed.
Here is what i did to fix it. 1. Went to SHS forums and downloaded his driver pack. 2. I took both 150 and 250 out of the system and ran the driver uninstall (SHS forums has straight forward instructions.) I did use the pre-release drivers from the thread that opus linked to and just pasted them into the cd package at the shs forums. 3. I set exclusions for my sage folder in virus scanner and disabled it for starting up with windows. 4. I reinstalled the cards and followed the directions to install the drivers. I originially had the pvr 250 in pci slot 1 and the pvr 150 in pci slot 2, but now the 150 is in the last pci slot i have, i think it is 5. 5. I uninstalled Sage. 6. I renamed the 150 in the registry from Hauppage pci II encoder to pvr-150. For some reason, Sage refuses to see the 2 separate cards in the setup wizard and thinks there was only one before i did this. *after doing this last time, my audio problem went away. 7. I reinstalled Sage. 8. Switched the ir cable to the 150 and it worked. Last edited by rich_l; 07-13-2005 at 04:56 PM. |
