Garbled screen
I have 2 problems.
When I enable 3D Accelleration my menu screens get a little garbled. Recordings play and look ok, but the text everywhere else is messed up, especially if Sage is running in a window. Text doesn't mess up in regular applications, but I installed a trial of that "other" PVR app that's "beyond"... well never mind and it had the same text garbage. I attached 2 screen captures of the interface, one with the garbled text, and the other that is fine after disabling 3d. My other problem is with playback. Certain shows will not play on Sage and result in the program hanging up, and if repeated too many times eventually a hard reset of the system. When it it hangs, the screen just freezes at whatever screen was loaded when you attempted to play show and input is ignored. They are being recorded correctly, because they look fine when I play them on a Sage Client on my computer over the network. System specs: ASUS A78NXE motherboard AMD 2800 not overclocked ChainTech 6600 Video card 1 gig Ram 465 Gig RAID Striped Hard drives (2) 2x PVR 250 Capture cards SBLive Sound card Connected to HDTV via components running 1080i Windows XP Service Pack 2 Home Edition 77.72 NVidia Drivers NForce2 Drivers installed from Manu CDROM (I tried installing 5.10 from NVidia's site but that caused a lot of trouble) DirectX 9.0c Java 1.5 (I think, I tried to have it check for an update and it said it had most current version) Decoder using: Nvidia PureVideo 1.02-150 Decoders Installed: PowerDVD6, Sonic, and Intervideo Please let me know if you need more information or have some things for me to try. Wow, that is strange . Does the text distortion appear when you connect the box to a computer monitor? I ask because my MSI 6600 using DVI out did some wierd things (wavy distortion lines) on the TV before I updated the drivers (to the version you are using, I believe) but it worked fine on my monitor using VGA. Also, the Sage interface locking may not be related to your problem with the garbled text. Next time it happens take a look at your task manager and see if your CPU time is spiked.

Not sure about the monitor, might hook one up later in the week and see if it does. In the meantime going to try to uninstall the drivers and reinstall. maybe I get lucky. |

Hey. Just be thankful your's doesn't look like mine!
http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ad.php?t=11895 I'm currently waiting for a replacement video card, which I hope solves the problem, otherwise, I don't know where to go... |

Hmmm, I've had that happen to me before on one of my other setups. Wish I knew what I did to fix it, but I've had so many problems with hardware I lost track! For my problem, am hoping a new motherboard does the trick. Am also having some problems with the DVD burner and when I tried to update my hard drive controller ran into some trouble. Oh yeah, and I had to disable ACPI on XP's setup because everytime I tried to install it would get the blue screen of death. Not sure what happened, but the board I think is near the end of its life cycle. And oh yes, the screen artifacts are a mere annoyance especially compared to your trouble, but the locking up when trying to play some shows is beyond annoying. Hope the video card fixes you up. |

Well I switched to 480p and the garbled text is gone with 3D Accel enabled. Some programs still lock up the program though. Bummer.

Problem solved. Reclock seemed to be causing the hangs. Uninstalled it and it's smooth sailing.
