It work.

I've restarted that server several times, but this time it worked. Shrug.
We must have been typing at the same time... glad it is working.

I guess that's another thing to suggest in the future, then: restart both, and refresh the client by trying to have it connect while the server isn't running. Did I understand that correctly? Sounds strange, but whatever works...

This is one of the frustrations with my SageTV experience. When I first expanded my SageTV to include clients, it was another troubleshooting adventure because things don't always work the way you expected. When trying to figure out what computer/clients go in what room, it takes a bit of time to figure out the best setup for your needs, and sometime that requires moving SageTV clients around. Of course doing so was a call for disaster as clients would not connect. Only after multiple reboots and sometime reinstalls that the clients suddenly connect to the server. Go figure. But once everything was settled in place, it now works without a hitch.

Just to add my experiences: I have one client licence that I occasionally need to move from one system to another for testing some of the development I do.

All I have to do is shutdown the client, restart the service on the server, and then startup the other client.

Works every time!
