Hauppauge 45 Button Remote

I'm seeing all kinds of posts about remote configuration but I can't really find what I need.

I have a silver Hauppauge 45 button remote. SageTV only receives signals from the bottom 2/3s of the remote.

It works, but I can't use the navigation arrows.

Has someone posted the working remote.ini file that I can just drop into the correct directory. I don't want to do anything with the remote except control SageTV.

Thx

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...t=irremote.ini has all the info needed.

I uploaded a copy of my irremote.ini that is stripped down for only SageTV if you want to see an example. It also has the # (SUBCC) button set to toggle between window & full screen.

Well that seemed to do it - Many Thanks!

I think what happened was I had too many apps updating the remote.ini file.

I'd installed and re-installed WinTV multiple times. I'd done the same thing with GB-PVR.

I saw entries in the file for SageTV but it musnt've updated correctly.

As a separate issue:

Do you know of a way to restore the remote.ini file to its original entries? That way if I have to re-install SageTV it will update correctly?

I guess I could extrat it from the windows CD?

I don't think that all the app installs caused your problem. When you install the Hauppage IR software, it only supports the older remote, the one with ~25-30 buttons. The addtitional commands have to be added in ourselves. I did not install anything except Sage, and I too had the info for tons of programs in the irremote.ini. hauppauge includes all of them so that the remote can work with many different apps out of the box.

If you want the original irremote.ini, reinstall the hauppauge remote software and it should overwrite the .ini, or when you install Sage and tell it to link to the hauppauge remote, it too will overwrite the .ini.

the irremote.ini does not come with windows, it is installed when you install the hauppauge remote software.

edit: once you get the irremote.ini configured the way you want it, make a backup copy so that if the .ini gets messed up, such as installing a Sage update that overwrites the .ini, you can just copy back your backup and then restart the IR software.

Hmmm . . .

The remote worked with GB-PVR just fine, and I'm using the most recent remote software from the Hauppauge website.

Either way, I am greatful for the fix.

I'll be sure to rename the file if I re-install.
