few unrelated problems

1) I tend to get a horizontal line on the very top of some channels that's just sort of static. is there any way to get rid of this?

2) a random windows problem- when I boot, I need to hit f8, go to "last configuration that worked" and then things work fine. if I don't do this, windows won't boot. how do I revert back to these settings for a regular boot?

3) my remote (hauppauge remote, came with 350) seems to stop working randomly. restarting the IR application seems to get it working again. it happens too frequently though- usually every few hours I need to do it. how can I fix that?

From what others have said, that may just be the part of the video that is normally shown outside the display area on the TV. You could try adjusting the horizontal & vertical stretch % in Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Aspect Ratio Settings.

Are you using one of the cusotm irremote.ini files to enable using the remote to put SageTV to sleep & wake it again? If so, are you sleeping it in the system tray or full screen w/the screen saver enabled? If in screen saver mode, the ini file is probably getting out of sync with the status of SageTV. Perhaps see this post or the ones around it.
