Motorola remote Exit with actisys

My Motorola digital cable box does not allow the Flip Bar (OSD when channels change) to be turned off (at least I haven't found a way.) I know how to program the exit button on the cable box remote in, what I am wondering if there is a way to get SageTV to issue the exit IR signal following any channel change. Doing so will quickly cause the Flip Bar to disapear.
