Looking For a 3rd Tuner
I currently have 2 x PVR250MCE's, Rev 16. What do you people recommend as a 3rd tuner and why. Got the 250's last year before the 150's and 500's were released. I am trying to head off any compatibility problems.

I haven't heard of any compatibility problems in a long time. Your best bet, price/performance wise is probably the PVR 150.

I added a 150 to my 2 250 ver 16 and I am hafing no problems. The only thing I noticed is that the volume on shows recorded on the 150 are louder than the 250.

Yeah, if a single tuner is what you're after, go with the 150. You should not have any compatibility problems with your 250's.
Personally, though, I cannot imagine having less than four tuners though (I am "comfortably" at six)...

I have a PVR-250, PVR-150 and PVR-500MCE. Never had any problems with any of them working together. I've upgraded the drivers three times over all. I think the link posted earlier for the 150 on sale is the way to go. I went with the retail 150 just to get a 2nd remote since I have no use or interest in the FM tuner(s).
Enjoy, RedR |
