Question Need help with USB-UIRT setup

Just got my USB-UIRT and upgraded to the latest beta, but I am a bit perplexed. I've found some info on these forums, but everything seems to assume prior knowledge of either Girder or the EXETunerPlugin.

If someone could give me a checklist in broad strokes, I'd be happy to write a FAQ for idiots like myself.

What are you trying to use it for receive, transmission, or both? Currently, only receive is directly integrated into SageTV. You'll need to use Girder (www.girder.nl) and the EXETunerPlugin (check out our developers section on our website) if you want to make use of the transmit capability of the USB-UIRT at this point. (it will be completely integrated in the future)

Both eventually, but I can use the PVR 250 remote to control Sage for now. I know 1.4.5 supports the uirt natively as a receiver, but I haven't seen that in the UI.

My primary concern is setting up EXEPlugin. I read in the forums that there are changes needed to the reg file, but I couldn't find any information about what those changes are. Thanks for the help.

You'll have to change the "command" value in the EXETunerPlugin key. Here's what mine reads:

C:\Program Files\Girder32\event.exe SageSetExternalChannel 18 %CHANNEL% -silent

This command silently raises Girder event (Girder events are "device" #18) named, "SageSetExternalChannel" with a payload consisting of the channel #.

My GML file is at http://stusals.com/scs-girder-gml.zip

Look at the group named Application Control / SageTV / SageSetExternalChannel. It contains a command named SetChannel. It responds to the event raised by the EXETunerPlugin because it has a Girder Event string of SageSetExternalChannel

This command contains LUA Script aka Variable Manipulation Script that parses the new channel number and raises events to cause button presses to be sent to my cable box. This script is a modified version of the script that can be downloaded from Girder's site, IIRC.

HTH,
Stuart

It's accessible through Detailed Setup > IR Hardware. Once you enable the UIRT then you can go through the Commands section of Detailed Setup to teach SageTV your remote commands.
