White (black) Screen After entering registration code
I have been running the trial of SAGETV and decided to take the plunge because there had been no problems.. Bought the software on line and entered the registration code.. AFTER THAT it all went dead.. No more menu and no action.. i try to bring up the main menu and all i get is a white screen then a black screen.. What is happening?

Obviously, that isn't quite the way it should work, but I don't recall hearing about something like that... Did you change any settings at all? Have you tried rebooting? Perhaps try using the REGISTER command line parameter and re-enter the reg code via copy & paste from the email. If you are running in service mode, does it work w/o the service running?
Maybe SageTV tech support would have heard of that, so give them a shot too. - Andy

TURNED OFF THE SERVICE COntroll.. Why did that do it.... now it works.. i dont get it..

Based on that. I'd say close Sage then back up the sageclient.properties file somewhere then delete it and try service mode again.

Maybe the properties file got corrupted somehow, so ToxMox's suggestion essentially reset its contents.
If you want to use service mode & have it record shows, then yes, the service has to be running for recordings to be made. Most of those basics are covered in an early section of the manual -- the Quick Start Guide begins on p. 22 for v2.2. - Andy
