PVR-150 + 480x480 res = black screen?

I'm still in the tweaking phase of my SageTV+PVR-150 setup.

I was having the "missing 5 minutes" problem a number of other users have had. Upon trying the reccomended "fast_mux_switch=false" property change that everyone reccomended, my card seemed to freeze up. Black screen, no output. A reboot seemed to fix it.

Last night I realized that if I changed the recording quality from "Good" to "Great" the black screen problem went away.

I started wondering, Great uses a 720x480 resolution, where as "Good" uses a (non-standard?) 480x480 resolution.

Does the PVR-150 handle 480x480 natively? Am I on to something or barking up the wrong tree?
