SageTV failing repeatedly with USB-UIRT!
I have gone round and round for months trying to get Sage to work reliably with a pair of set-top boxes as controlled by a USB-UIRT. I have attempted to build .IR files from the USB-UIRT irhelper application, from within Sage itself, from data pasted from learned Pronto codes and from codes pasted from a JP1-enabled remote programming app. Nothing seems to work. These boxes are Hughes HTL-HD DirecTV/OTA/Cable tuners.
Last night I pulled out an old ReplayTV box at set it up to control one of the stbs using the infrared emitter and an included code set and the Replay was able to tune reliably. It appears that the infrared code set is not overly complex, but for some reason Sage cannot produce it. I really need some help in truly finding out how Sage produces the infrared codes and why it does not behave like a myriad of other apps, utilities and standalone remotes. I could post datasets generated from a number of apps if someone thinks it would help. |

Did you check out the USB-UIRT forum? I could be wrong, but as far as I know, SageTV just uses the USB-UIRT as its drivers allow it to be used. Perhaps check w/USB-UIRT support to see if there are known problems controlling that device or learning its codes.
