VGA to Coax? or TV Out card?
I have my PVR (Sage) computer that I normally just watch shows on the computer. But I want to output the video to my TV and need a way to do that. Do they make VGA (15 pin) to Coax converter/adaptors? I haven't been able to find any online.
Or would it work better to just get a TV Out card? If so, how does a TV out card, the normal video card, and the capture card all work together without causing problems? Any ideas would be great. THanks. |

Sounds like you don't even have composite RCA video on your TV? If so, you probably need to get an RF Modulator box to do the conversion for you. Hook up your card (video card or TV-tuner's TV-out) and run it to the RF mod box.

My TV has all kinds of inputs but I am planning on picking up some sort of modulator thing. I'm not sure what kind of inputs it will have. But I don't have any outputs on my computer except the monitor cable. SO either way I need something...
Was looking at something like this: http://www.smarthome.com/7764.html So maybe I need something that has RCA type outputs and not Coax outputs. Would any old cheapo Video Out card work? Do they make cards that have the video and audio out all on one card? HMmm |

If your video card has a s-video or composite output that should work fine. You just convert the video output to a RF signal that you can stick into the RF input of the TV.
If your video card does not have a s-video or composite output, you will need a scan converter to convert the VGA output to a video signal and then you can send the video signal to your TV. I've never seen a computer video card that has both video and audio outputs. I just run a 1/8" mini to RCA cable to hook the audio out from the computer to the audio in on the TV.
